In the past, overclocking a processor for &lsquo;free&rsquo; performance involved taking a cheap model and pushing it past the top end model.&nbsp; In the land of Intel, overclocking by any significant margin has been limited to the more expensive processors &ndash; with Sandy Bridge is was common so see a 3.4 GHz processor overclocked to 4.6 GHz with very little &lsquo;effort&rsquo; for those with overclocking experience.</p>
